Senior Constable Harriet Kelly
The tragic story of the death of Jennie Denum is an illustration of the diversity and complexity of police work. It is a story of a couple with an unshakeable belief that the birth of a child should be a natural event and, the process itself, the complete province of the parents. Enter two midwives who agree to assist the couple to this end with the impending birth of their first child. A close relationship develops between the two parties, all of whom share this almost irrational belief in a non-interventionist style of child birth.
