Retired Detective Senior Sergeant Barry Fay
The hard-hitting account of notorious crimes (including three murders) three years apart, committed by an uncaring and violent offender. The victims; a shop keeper, his customer and a police sergeant. A second policeman was shot and would most likely also have been killed were it not for fate. This article appeared in the September 2016 issue of the APJ, and is the feature subject of the APJ's second 'Policing Australia' podcast, released on 1 February 2021.

The West Perth Rapist
Tony Guerriero and Luke McCulloch
Police hunting for a sex offender in West Perth needed a break and that came after what appeared to be an innocuous vehicle stop. What eventuated from that interaction surprised everyone. The offender had used his knowledge and training as an employee of a bank, as a police officer, as a customs officer and as an immigration officer to commit a series of calculated offences.
